I am honored that you are considering me to walk along with you on your journey to meeting your mental health and life goals.

As a licensed social worker for the last twenty years, I have worked with a wide variety of individuals and families providing both in-home and outpatient-based diagnostic and therapeutic services. I have most often worked with children and families in the child welfare system, many of whom have a history of complex trauma; adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, or other adjustment needs who are facing barriers to moving forward and achieving their goals; and children, adolescents, and adults who are finding it difficult to connect in a meaningful way to others due to a lack of acceptance or understanding.

I have been practicing trauma informed care and treatment for the past ten years. I believe that trauma is initially experienced in a sensory way and that finding words to describe and explore trauma is a process. I believe that many, if not most of us, experience a variety of traumatic events in our lives that impact how we perceive the world and interact with it, and that we can heal from these experiences.

In your therapeutic journey, we will focus on your unique skills, interests, and support systems to identify what is going well, how to do more of it, and how to build on those strengths. I have found success utilizing a variety of evidence-based approaches that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and modalities that include sensory-based expressive arts as well as DBI strategies.

I received my Bachelor of Social Work in 1999 from Xavier University and worked in the field for many years before returning to school for my Master of Social Work, which I completed at Our Lady of the Lake University in 2019.
